Bubbly and personable, Adrienne made this little session a joy. Making it easy for me to write her story.
When asked about herself she had an abundance of life experience that she shared with me. Adrienne grew up in Johnstown, Pa. She was known around town for her singing and dancing, which she still loves to this day. After attending and graduating from UPJ she would begin her professional life as a flight attendant. Moving to New York City in 1974, she loved her job but would soon get married. Later she would pick up and move again with her new husband to Atlanta, GA.
After the move to Atlanta she had two daughters, Megan and Lacey. She quit her job as a flight attendant to stay home with them, but wouldn’t be home forever. She worked a year for IBM, but after her divorce she would move to merchandising and sales. She worked for Sara Lee but upon looking for a better job when a promotion at Sara Lee promised to move her away from home decided to leave.
She found an Infiniti delaership. “I told them I couldn’t be a pushy sales person and they responded to me to just be myself.” It worked. In the first three months of her working in the car business she became one of the top sales people. After awhile her hours at this Infiniti dealership got to be too much. There was a lot going on in her family and she needed to be there for them. She left that dealership after one year of success. After this she would work for Kellogg and Hunter Douglas doing business to business sales.
Her daughters grown (now 24 and 27) and her mother still in PA just recently Adrienne made the decision to come back home finally. She found work quickly at Thomas Honda of Johnstown, Pa and now is right back on the path to automotive sales success. She’s very proud of her accomplishments and also of her daughters. She loves going to the beach and gambling in casino’s. Raised on opera but loves rock music. Loves to get out and dance still and drink good red wine. She loves to watch the NFL and watch golf. She loves her cats Misha and Olivia.
Adrienne says that the one thing from her past that has probably helped her the most is her mother and fathers work ethic. She used to go on sales calls with her father. This also has contributed to her being very adaptable to anything in the workplace.
She believes in the Honda product. Her whole family has owned Honda’s for thirty years or more. Adrienne attributes her families love of Honda starting out with they are low maintenance and super functional but in past years they’ve also become beautiful. “I just bought a brand new Accord and I think its beautiful. I don’t think there’s a better car out there unless you are just looking for status.” She thinks its easy to sell them because they sell themselves. Both of her daughters first cars were civics.
When asked what’s different about the car dealership she is working for now and what would she say to a car consumer that is unhappy with the car industry, Adrienne responded with confidence. “I, myself had the same views before I got into selling the cars. I’ve always tried to just be myself. Consumers are more knowledgeable these days with CarFax and online research. Here we are honest. We are Ethical. We are proactive. We are extremely customer service oriented.” She continued that its fun to sell cars in an environment like this. Its a challenge to meet the individuals needs and not try and sell them something they don’t want or need. At Thomas Honda, she says, we will earn your business and have fun in the process.
She has many favorite experiences but quoted that just today she sold a Honda Cr-V and a Honda Accord V-6 to a husband and wife and it ranks up there with all the best times she’s ever had in sales.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Adrienne Moldow for sitting down with me and taking time out of her busy schedule to hopefully brighten a couple reader’s days.
